Cruelty-free Hair Care Brands In Canada

This post is a series of posts that I am writing in participation of the #becrueltyfree campaign. Between March 9-14 it is Be Crueltyfree Week in which bloggers and vloggers have been asked to produce content in support of ending animal testing in the cosmetic industry.

I don’t really focus too much on haircare on here, although I think I should since I have very thick, curly hair and I don’t find too many people with the same hair type as me. But I wanted to make a quick list of cruelty-free brands that I’ve tried their hair products. I haven’t repurchased hair products from a number of them, but it’s only because I have very specific hair care needs and their products just weren’t suited to it.

In my previous post I talked about how to make the transition into a cruelty-free lifestyle. Now I want to focus on some key affordable companies that I think produce great cruelty-free cosmetics. When I say affordable, I mean that they are usually found at the drugstore or lower-end retailer and most of their products are under $30. I also want to focus on availability in Canada since I know how frustrating it is as a Canadian consumer to be limited with the brand selection we have.

Here are my favourite affordable cruelty-free makeup brands, including their price range and where you can purchase them. I’m also going to base this off of the drugstores that I shop at, and I’m aware that there are other drugstores in the rest of Canada but I’m not familiar with them since they don’t exist in the Greater Toronto Area.
